vs Sevenoaks Vine

| First
game of the season commenced on Saturday the 24th April. Which saw
the Dale take on a Vine 2/3rd XI in a 46 over game. The dale batted
first and mustered a very healthy 303 off only 44 of their allocated
overs. Early declaration in a limited overs game. Topper what were
you thinking. Notable innings from Nathan Dodd (113), N Taylor (79),
M Taylor (40 odd). In response the Vine only managed 160 odd. Highlight
of the day was David stringer with a very impressive hat trick. That
must be a first for the club in a while. |

Holmesdale
vs High Halstow

| Second
game under way at the Dale on the 25th April was a friendly against
newcomers to Montreal Park in the form of High Halstow. Again the
Dale batted first on a dampish grean seamer. It was doing all sorts
honest. The dale lost an early contoversial wicket to a suposed edge
by the newly appointed chairman which was given by an undisclosed
umpire. You hit it Smouty from where I was! The dale managed to compile
232 in their allocated 40 overs. Of which there was a lovely classical
innigs from Colin Simpson (95) leading from the front of the innings.
Sharing a 130 run partnership with Oli Timson (38). With some big
hitting from Chris Leonard(37) at the end of the innings.. High Halsow
never really looked like getting to the targe finishing on 98 all
out from 38 overs. |

Direction
to the Ground
|
| The
ground is situated in Riverhead on the A25. From the M25 leave at
Jct 5 and take the A21 towards Sevenoaks and take the 1st exit. Follow
the A25 into Riverhead and the ground is on the right hand side on
Worships Hill. The ground is directly on the right after a set of
traffic lights by Riverhead Infant School (on its new site).
